  Welcome to Optimist year 2012/2013.

The Optimist is all about "Bringing out the Best in Kids". We are a service club of men and women from all walks of life currently we are 55 members strong who help out for the children of the community. The rewards we receive through many of our events are the smiles on the youngster’s faces and their appreciation.
We all realize there is no better feeling than being able to help others and hopefully make a positive difference in their lives. We all have the same goal in common to help our youth and grow friendships within the Club through our activities.
We are presently in our first quarter. Three of the executive went to the first quarter board on November 20th in Toronto and each one of us came out of this with something to share with our members to help our Club grow.
The final Saturday of October we served up a barbecue for the annual Haunted Forest at Sheppard’s Bush. The weather held out for us, the children and their parents.
In upcoming events, we are having our Annual Book Sale on Saturday and Sunday - November 24 & 25 at the Aurora Public Library, 15145 Yonge Street. We are also marshalling the "Under The Stars" Santa Claus parade in the evening of November 24th.
We are looking forward to our annual mid-winter activity: our yearly Hockey Skills Competition for all of Aurora’s Minor Hockey teams at the Aurora Community Center on December 27th. In January we will planning and gearing up for the Family Day event at the Town Park, where we will be serving up Chili, Hot Chocolate, Hot Dogs & Sausages
Watch here for news on upcoming events in the next quarter.

   Yours in Optimism
